Frequently Asked Questions

Which platforms will Rog & Roll be released on?
Steam (PC/Mac), iOS, and Android are all currently planned.
Will the game also be ported to consoles?
To be announced!
Do you need a composer/sound designer/voice actor/etc.?
Nope! But thanks for asking!
When will the game be released?
This will be announced soon! Follow us on social media or sign up for the mailing list to keep in the loop.
Is there a demo available?
Yes! You can grab it on Steam.
Do you have a publisher?
I'm working with Crescent Moon Games to publish the game on iOS/Android. As of now I am self-publishing on all other platforms.
What engine are you building Rog & Roll in?
Unity!
How do you get that 3D pixel art aesthetic?
For the most part, the game is a mix of 2D pixel art elements (characters, pickups, projectiles, background details, etc.) and 3D environments that I modeled in Blender, and then textured with pixel art. There's also some shader magic mixed in to help things blend together better.
Was Rog inspired by [existing video game character]?
Rog is a pastiche of low-ranking enemy monsters from a huge range of platformer games from the 80's and 90's. There's DNA from plenty of sources mixed in there, with a pinch of Sentient Tomato added for flavor.
I want to know more about the game's characters/world!
Rog & Roll is loosely based on a comic I've drawn for many years called Badnix! The game and comic universes aren't exactly the same but you can get a very good sense of the game's world and characters by leafing through the comics.
Who are you, anyway? What's a Punch the Moon?
I'm Clay! I'm a game developer and artist and I'm also the person making Rog & Roll. Punch the Moon is a company I started for me/sometimes my friends to release games through.
Will this game include roguelike elements/metroidvania mechanics/coyote time/etc.?
I can confirm that the game will include Roglike elements.
